Shoreline
Cottages. Situated at Punta Piape, it is 6.5 km. east of
Poblacion facing Davao Gulf and accessible to all land
transportation. Several bamboo huts stood in an elevated
curved shoreline and surrounded by hectares of fishponds.
Piape has now 3 major
establishments that cater to its beach clienteles. Huts can be
rented from Php 50-300/day. If one is fond with the Karaoke,
be ready with your 2 peso coin for a song or bring a bag full
of coins so you can sing your heart out. Weekends are the
busiest with people coming from as far as Kidapawan.
Today, Piape is the
most populated barangay in the municipality with some
alterations of the land and seascape of yore. The relentless
decimation the lush mangroves in favor of fish ponds has left
the once pristine scenery a bane to the ocular sense. The
local government's initiative in replanting mangroves in Bgy.
San Isidro is a constructive effort but without the
community's own initiative and participation, it will be one
of those noble paper projects on the shelves.
